15 times If Paradise Is Half As Nice
On Friday, February 20, IPIHAN opened with an overview of no less than 15 previous editions!
The gallery was packed once again. This was mainly due to the convivial atmosphere, but also to the self-built IPIHAN-style bar, positioned prominently in the middle of the space. During the opening speech, Ivo was in conversation with Willem Besselink about the history of IPIHAN. Willem gave us a brief overview of the editions of the past 15 years, in which artists created on-site installations during a five-week working period.
All years have been summarized visually and displayed on the walls of Nieuw Charlois. In addition, a documentary about the 15th edition was made by Tine Magzon (to be viewed with freshly baked popcorn), various merchandise items were for sale, and many artworks from past years were also available for purchase individually. This gave people the chance to support IPIHAN and acquire a beautiful work by their favorite participant.
