When clay is formed by a mold it takes on a final shape. But, just when it comes out of the mould, the material is still flexible and elastic. These two properties guide the creation process of Merged by Gravity. A game arises between me and the material, in which I let two separate objects deform each other through gravity. I direct the objects, but the formation takes place due to the properties of the material and chance.

The connection between the two objects, which found and formed each other, is unique. Traces of the initial shape of the clay objects remain visible and together they create a completely new shape. From then on, they belong together.
